Regulatory Human Factors Engineer

Melissa is a self-proclaimed human factors nerd who finds joy in practicing regulatory human factors engineering applied throughout the medical device design process. She brings a passion for optimizing medical device designs to meet the needs of end users, with a special interest in accessible and universal design that was inspired by her brother who survived and thrived as a quadriplegic due to many wonderful medical devices and a lot of advocacy. Melissa is a Human Factors Engineer and Accessibility Advisor with Human Ability Designs. She is a human factors practitioner, Instructor of human factors with the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, faculty member with the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, and an applied researcher who loves to collaborate on projects that help advance the sciences and industry best practices. When she is not involved in human factors endeavors, you will find her spoiling her family with fun adventures and good food, paddle-boarding or painting, and walking her mini schnauzer.
