MBP claims she bleeds design. As an expert in medical device design, specifically in applied human factors in design, she is well equipped to design her own bandage. She is a Principal of Design and Human Factors for Sentiar and routinely consults for the medical device industry. She serves as a faculty member [and previous co-chair] of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation’s Human Engineering Committee, responsible for writing standards on human factors /usability that people use or might want to use. She is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati and routinely plays in the innovation sandbox with healthcare providers from every discipline. When she is not involved in device design, you will likely find her with a few large dogs on a boat or pondering life’s quandaries while riding her bike insane distances. Woof.
